The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Twentieth Century Fox and Walden Media will release "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" on December 10th, 2010!
This means "Narnia" will once again be a winter franchise. Fox recently partnered with Walden on the "Narnia" film series after Disney and Walden parted ways. The first one, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe debuted in December 2005 making a total of $744 million worldwide. The second, Prince Caspian, was released last May to less spectacular results only making $420 million worldwide. Walden and Fox believe "Narnia" is better suited for a December release.
As of now, "Dawn Treader" has the 2010 date to itself!
Is anyone else as excited for the 3rd Narnia film as I am? Why do you think the second one didn't do as good? And what are you looking forward to seeing in the 3rd movie?

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
I need like 5 others to be obsessed ok? Psh, down south I'd be in better company. I spear-headed renting the theatre this last year. Brought I believe like 105 or 108 I think. Can't remember. But they said it was WAY MORE than they normally get for private showings. So I was satisfied! And that was just our private showing! No cracks about how only 100 people in all of Ketchikan saw Narnia 2! I can't wait for the 3rd one!

I am lost beyond words. I'm glad I'm not a full out nerd like you freaks.
By the way, I'm looking for sponsors to send me to Australia so I can be an extra in CoN: VotD! Any takers?

Oh no. Not Fox. I believe they tend to butcher movies based upon books... *mostly prods the Eragon movie, and with a newly sharpened spear* Hopefully Walden will keep them in line, though.
But I suppose I'm excited nonetheless. : D I remember that Voyage of the Dawn Treader was one of my favorite books within Chronicles of Narnia series.

Yes, I was SEVERLY dissapointed with Eragon, but this isn't a sole Fox venture. It's with Walden. And they've still got Douglas Gresham, C.S. Lewis' stepson on board. So that's re-assuring to me.
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
narnia is ok im not like a mega fan like josh but it's ok
Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
That comic is AWESOME Garret! If I was still in Elementary School, that'd be me!
Oh, so update, Voyage of the Dawn Treader will start filming sometime in July at Gold Coast Studios and along the eastern coast of Austarlia between Brisbane and Sydney! I can't wait to start getting more updates after they starts filming!
Unfortunately there's not much news while they're in pre-production. I'm still looking for sponsors to fly me to Queensland, Australia! If someone can PM or MP me, that'd be just swell!

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Here's all I have in the way of Dawn Treader Images at the moment.
Here's the map to show where they'll be filming in Australia.
The concept drawing of the ship Dawn Treader
Another concept of what looks like Lucy.
Actor Will Poulter will be playing Eustace Scrubb along side Georgie Henley (Lucy), Skandar Keynes (Edmund), and Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian). Will's most recent work was starring in an indie comedy called Son of Rambow. A hilarious look at two Brittish kids who idolize and try to make their own movie about Rambo. It's quite hilarious!
Michael Apted, the new Director for the Narnia Franchise. Now that Andrew Adamson has retired from the franchise, it's unsure whether Michael Apted will direct more than one film or if the studios will hire a different Director for each film like other long-running franchises have done. It's a way to keep the movies fresh. Michael Apted was the Director of such movies as Amazing Grace, Enough (with Jennifer Lopez), 007: The World Is Not Enough, and Nell.
I'll post more the second I get some more spy reports!

New Concept Art!
Some new concept art for the movie was released today! They seem to really focus on the Merpeople and Mer City!
Aslan
Aslan with an unknown person. (Possibly Prince Caspian?)
The ship Dawn Treader floating over a deep sea building.
Same as above, but this one has a serpentine figure added to the front column.
The city of the Merpeople
Merpeople on Seahorses!
Guards on Seahorses at the entrance of Mer City.
Silhouette of the Dawn Treader floating above the Mer City.
A throne in the Mer City perhaps?
Aslan with an unknown person again.
My favorite are the guards! That picture is hauntingly awesome!

Re: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
So for any film-set stalkers who wanna join me, they'll be starting filming soon! Two confirmed locations are Doug Jennings Park on The Spit at the Gold Coast and Cleveland Point in Brisbane's bayside. Both in Queensland, Australia. Other locations are being negotiated too.
